COLLEGE & CAREER ADVISORY
CatRock offers college and career guidance aimed to help students make more informed and better educational and career choices. CatRock has partnered with New Settlement College Access Center, a Bronx-based community center, to offer workshops for both students and parents.
Additionally through CatRock’s partnership with the College Access Center we offer free 1 on 1 comprehensive college advice and assistance for both students and parents. The process begins with a personal review and assessment of the student’s academic record, financial situation, career interests, personal concerns and college aspirations.
The process results in giving the prospective college student a well-researched ‘college list’ that is reflective of their academic strengths and interests. Students receive continued support with their personal statement and college application completion and submission.
In addition, each student is guided through the process of completing the major financial aid application forms used by all institutions (the FAFSA, TAP and CSS Profile).
CatRock juniors also have the opportunity to enroll in New Settlement’s College Explorer program. This free program is designed to support high school juniors as they prepare for the college admissions process.
