AWARD RECIPIENT OF IMPACT | Community Impact Award
The Community Impact Award honors the individuals and organizations who provide outdoor experiences that empower the lives of young people. This award recognizes exceptional contributions to youth development, mentorship, and resilience building.
The Chill Foundation has made significant contributions to our programming by helping us bring snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing to students in the Bronx. We are grateful for the equipment, hands-on mentorship, and guidance Chill offers to each of our students. From encouraging persistence after a fall to fostering camaraderie through shared experiences, Chill’s work builds resilience, grit, and relationships that empowers students both outside and inside the classroom and on and off the mountains. Chill’s dedication to making the outdoors a welcoming and transformative experience for all youth
makes them a true hero.
This award is being given in honor and memory of Jake Burton Carpenter. An extra shout out to Donna Carpenter for your endless support for Chill and all its partner agencies, George Burton Carpenter for inspiring all of us to never give up and live life to its fullest, Ben Clark for your unwavering leadership, and of course our local NYC hero Ashley Thomas.
