We are launching Many Miles Ahead, a 3 part biking fundraiser to raise money for our programs. Members of the CatRock community are helping inspire Bronx youth by biking over 500 miles up and over mountains and throughout New York City. The adventures start in Colorado with two former New Yorkers and CatRock supporters riding 110 miles over 3 mountain passes including Juniper Pass, Loveland Pass, and Vail pass.

Eric, an environmental economist, and Joell, CatRock’s Director of Development and Strategy, set out on the iconic Triple Bypass bike ride to raise money for CatRock Ventures. Eric and Joell hope to inspire CatRock students to keep challenging themselves to reach their own goals.

The journey continues during the Five Boro Bike tour where members of the CatRock community and program alumni leaders ride 40 miles throughout New York City. “The Five Boro Bike tour builds upon the CatRock Youth Cycling Academy that we launched earlier this year,” explains Andrew Negron, CatRock alumni leader and program staff. “It was amazing to see teens learning how to ride a bike for the first time and challenging themselves to go further than they thought possible. Now they have the skills and social support to explore all of what NYC has to offer in an eco-friendly way.”

On September 19th, students from the CatRock Youth Cycling Academy and community members take the baton by biking on the Bronx River Parkway to reach 500 miles collectively. “This is more than a fundraiser campaign,” explains Craig Meisner, CatRock’s co-founder and Executive Director. “It’s a celebration of the growth of our students who got outside of their comfort zones and learned new skills by mastering their fears. Biking is a wonderful way for young people to explore the City beyond their borough especially during the pandemic.”

Join us by making a donation to our Many Miles Ahead Campaign today. Any size contribution will help Bronx youth climb higher and go further on their journeys of realizing their potential.
